5th WHEEL ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

1.  Slide handle (A) through large hole in bracket (H).  Slide spring (L) on to handle (A).  Thread (A) into locking mechanism (B) located inside 5th wheel head.

2.  Using bolt and nuts (I) and (P), fasten bracket (H) to 5th wheel head.

3.  Using shouldered bolt (J) and locking nut (O), fasten locking dog (D) to (H).  Be sure to slide (J) though small spring (K) as shown in Diagram 5.  Tighten locking dog (D) all the way down, then loosen until it can pivot freely.

4.   Using pliers, bend straight end of spring (K) through small hole in bracket (H).  Bend end of  (K) on the bottom side of (H) to prevent it from coming out.

5.   Install release rod (E) in locking dog (D) and handle (A) using flanged nuts (P).  With handle in open position, thread Nylok nut (Q) on to the release rod but be sure not to over tighten.  Nylok nut (Q) is only a stop for the handle. (Diagram 4)

6.   Install pin (G) on to small end of pin retainer (M).  Slide large end of (M) over end of handle (A).  Slide handle cushion (N) onto end of handle (A).
